Colorado Pet Pantry is a nonprofit pet food bank with more than 100 monthly pantries across the state. We host these pantries in 31 counties in Colorado, and in the past 12 months, we assisted over 150,000 dogs and cats and their 45,000 families with pet food. Our goal is to keep pets in their existing homes, with the families who love them.
The majority of the pet food we distribute is donated to us by our local community and major pet food brands. Because of this, we have developed an efficient distribution system, where we can take a $5 donation and turn it into a 30-day supply of pet food for one dog or cat. Each year we divert millions of pounds of pet food, destined for landfills, and get it into the hands of those who need it for their pets.
There are several ways to help Colorado Pet Pantry. We are always in need of funds to help pay for storage, vehicle expenses and staff costs. With all the moving parts, it takes a lot of coordination to do what we do. Volunteers are the backbone of our organization. From donation to distribution, volunteers make the work we do possible. We are consistently looking to grow our volunteer force and utilize the many talents that our supporters possess. Lastly, having access to donated pet food is the only way we’re able to do what we do. If it’s just the extra bag sitting in your pantry, or if you are able to host a pet food drive for us at your place of business, we need pet food. This is a great and easy way to share with your friends about our organization or simply give back to pet families in your community.
Colorado Pet Pantry aims to ensure that no pet owner has to make the heartbreaking decision to relinquish their pet due to financial constraints. We can only do this with your help. Join our community today, visit
